Meet the Corbin, Merz, & Haney Architecture & Interior Design Team
KEN CORBIN, AIA PRINCIPAL
Ken Corbin interned with Narramore Bain Brady Johanson (NBBJ) in Seattle before he was drafted into the Army where he subsequently served in Vietnam. Upon release from the services, he completed his internship with architect Tom Rogers, then joined the firm as a partner until 1986. The current firm was incorporated as a professional corporation in 1986 (Rogers and Corbin, Inc.) and amended to Corbin Associates Inc. in 1993. Ken is a former member of the City of Enid Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals and has also served on the Main Street Enid Board of Directors.
JOHN MERZ, AIA PRINCIPAL
John Merz began his internship with Elliott+ Associates in Oklahoma City and joined Corbin Associates in 1993, earning his license in 1995. In 2010, John was added as an officer-stockholder and the corporation was amended to Corbin & Merz Architects Inc., PC. John is currently on the City of Enid Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, and is a former member of the Metropolitan Area Planning Committee, Historic Preservation Board, and Main Street Enid Board of Directors.
ERIN HANEY, IIDA INTERIOR DESIGNER
Erin Haney is a Registered Commercial Interior Designer in the State of Oklahoma and a 2007 Oklahoma State University graduate with a degree in Interior Design. She previously was employed by HKS Architects in Dallas where she worked on design and coordination of spaces for the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. She later transferred to Las Vegas to work on the Aria Tower in City Center before joining Corbin & Merz in 2011. She is also a talented professional photographer.
JESSICA RAMIREZ, ASSOC. AIA ARCHITECTURAL INTERN
Jessica Ramirez attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture, Minor History and Theory of Architecture in the fall of 2019. During her time at OSU she was able to acquire real world knowledge by working as a summer intern in Wichita, KS, and Fort Smith, AR, before starting at Corbin & Merz Architects in January of 2020. Jessica is a new member of Enid Young Professionals and is an Associate Member of AIA Central Oklahoma Chapter. She is also currently involved with her sorority Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc., a Latina founded organization, as a member of the Alumna Association and she serves as the Alumna Advisor of the Iota chapter.
KARI HIGGINS INTERIOR DESIGNER
Kari Higgins has a degree in Interior Design from Oklahoma State University. Kari joined Corbin & Merz in June of 2020. Previous work includes idGROUP in Dallas, American Airlines, and the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City. Her first stop back in Enid was Vance Air Force Base before finding her way to Corbin & Merz. Kari and Brad Waken have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Kari has been involved in Leadership Greater Enid, Enid Chamber Ambassador, Boy Scouts, United Way Budget Allocation Committee, Youth & Family Services, March of Dimes, Enid Public Schools, and Leonardo’s Children's Museum.
RONY RAMIREZ ARCHITECTURAL INTERN
Rony Ramirez graduated from Northern Oklahoma College in Enid with an associate's in Applied Science (Drafting and Design) and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Oklahoma State University. He started with Corbin & Merz part time in May of 2018, then joined the firm full time in August of 2021. While at Oklahoma State Univ. he was part of the first NOMAS chapter on campus (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students) and part of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc. Rony stays active outside of work with jiu-jitsu, skateboarding, art projects, family, and hiking.
KATHERINE CORBIN BUSINESS MANAGER
Katherine Corbin provides administrative support services for the firm. Also an Oklahoma State University graduate, Katherine majored in Interior Design before graduating as an English major and working as a language arts and speech teacher. She later worked as a volunteer literacy tutor and grant writer. She joined Corbin Associates full-time in 1993.
